INTRODUCTION

Section 11 of the Nigerian Child Rights Act, 2003, guarantees every child the right to dignity. This means that no child should be subjected to physical, mental, or emotional injury, abuse, neglect, or maltreatment, including sexual abuse, or to torture, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, or to attacks on his honour or reputation, or to slavery or servitude. This protection extends beyond private spaces to school settings.

As a result, every child has the right to be educated in a safe, secure, and conducive environment free from the threat of violence. However, this is not the reality for many Nigerian students, who face violence in the form of bullying, aggression, severe punishments, and abuse in school settings, which affects their academic performance and overall well-being.

This training aims to equip teachers with the skills to identify, prevent, and respond appropriately to cases of violence in the school environment.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to understand what constitutes violence in a school setting, identify its causes and risk factors, learn about strategies for preventing violence in the school setting, and learn how to respond to violence.

MODULE 4: Responding to Violence
What is Lorem Ipsum?
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book
Why do we use it?
It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English
